Who We Are
No woman walks alone. That belief is where the herd began.
A Herd of Her Own Foundation is a woman-founded, women-focused nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence and their children.
We were founded by three women who know this journey firsthand, either through their own experience or by walking closely beside someone who has lived it. Not one voice at the top, but three women building this together, the same way a herd is led by more than just its matriarch.
In an elephant herd, no cow walks alone. The matriarch leads with memory, the herd protects its own, and every mother is surrounded by aunties who step in without being asked. That's the model we build around: safety, memory, and a community that shows up.
Right now, that shows up through Her Own Boutique, a free, dignified shopping experience for women rebuilding their lives. Every woman deserves to choose clothes that make her feel like herself again, not hand-me-downs, not charity, just a real closet to shop from. It's a small thing that means everything when you're starting over.

Her Own Boutique is growing in stages — from a single launch event to a truck that carries dignity to women wherever they are.
Inaugural Launch Event
A private, invitation-only shopping day for women referred by our partner organizations.
Stationed Boutique
A fixed boutique inside our climate-controlled storage space, open on a recurring basis.
Mobile Boutique
A custom-built 26 ft boutique-on-wheels, bringing the experience to women in other counties and states.
